Some of the areas I can help you with are anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, LGBTQ+, self-esteem, identity, adoption, spirituality, and transitions. I begin by helping you clarify your goals and dreams and then facilitate your way forward as you access your strengths.

I often use Internal Family Systems to help center and ground you. As a certified practitioner in Somatic Experiencing and a dance movement therapist in training, I include the body as a form of self-expression and a source of self-knowledge. This can be effective with areas that do not progress with pure talk therapy such as regulating energy held by trauma. Drawing on a number of modalities, I will tailor my approach to your individual needs by taking a holistic view and listening carefully to you.

About

I have helped a wide range of people in a variety of situations over more than 20 years. Prior to establishing my private practice almost a decade ago, I worked in both the psychiatric and medical emergency rooms of San Francisco General Hospital, which is a level 1 trauma hospital, as well as in mental health clinics and schools. An article I wrote about spirituality in social work practice has been frequently cited and used in educational settings. I appreciated the chance to serve my community in these capacities and it gave me a broad frame of reference for real world situations. I now love providing psychotherapy with a focus on individuals.

Previously I was a professional modern dancer and appreciate how creativity and the arts are sustaining. I have lived in various countries abroad and value cultural awareness. I also care about climate change and related to this I completed a certification in permaculture design.

I strive to be an ally to people of color and to be culturally sensitive. I work collaboratively, without judgment, and am down-to-earth.
