My approach is collaborative and holistic. We’ll start by identifying your goals, and together we’ll explore how to harness your strengths to move forward. I tailor therapy to meet your unique needs, and I draw on a variety of therapeutic modalities to support your journey, including:

• Internal Family Systems (IFS): An effective tool to help center and ground you in your true self, relieving challenging parts that carry pain and act in unhealthy ways. 

• Somatic Experiencing: A body-focused approach to healing trauma and regulating the nervous system.

• Dance/Movement Therapy: You don't need to be a dancer to benefit from movement as a way to connect with your body’s wisdom, get in touch with your creativity, and support emotional healing. This is especially true for areas that don't improve with talk therapy alone.

• I have also completed Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 training and am pleased to offer therapy for couples. 

About Me

With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people of many backgrounds in a variety of settings. Before opening my private practice nearly a decade ago, I worked in the psychiatric and medical emergency rooms of San Francisco General Hospital, a level 1 trauma center, as well as in mental health clinics, and schools. These diverse experiences have given me a broad, real-world perspective on the challenges people face, which often change their views of life. An article I wrote about spirituality in social work practice has been frequently cited and used in educational settings.

In addition to my clinical work, I am a former professional modern dancer. I understand firsthand how the arts and creativity can be a source of strength and resilience. I also have lived in multiple countries, which has deepened my appreciation for cultural diversity. I strive to be an ally to people of color and am committed to ongoing cultural responsiveness in my work. I also care about about sustainability in the face of climate change and related to this I completed a certification in permaculture design.
