Why should I do therapy?
You might have a longtime challenge that you are ready to address or something new that has cropped up. Either way, reaching out for support is a sign of strength and gives you a chance to repair problems, overcome challenges, and improve your life. Some people come to therapy for personal growth and to give space for their aspirations.
How do I get started?
First you will have a free 15-20 minute discussion by video or phone. If you decide to have an initial session, it will usually be about 55 minutes. This can be in person or virtual on a confidential platform. I will send you a link to my portal where you can review and complete some forms. After I gather pertinent background information, we will set some goals and identify the best approach for your needs. Following sessions will be 45 minutes.
How long does therapy last?
Therapy can be short or long term. How long it takes for you to meet your goals depends on your situation. It is recommended that you start with weekly sessions but this can change as you feel better.
Do you take Insurance and what is your fee?
I am in network with Cigna insurance and out of network for all other plans. I can provide you with a superbill to obtain insurance reimbursement if your plan has that. We can discuss my fee, which is on a sliding scale.
