Somatic Movement Therapy

As somatic approaches to healing become increasingly popular, movement therapy adds a deeper level of awareness and body/mind connection. Mindfulness is useful but has become a buzzword. “Bodyfulness,” coined by Christine Caldwell, takes it one step further by incorporating the whole body. Movement therapy does not require any sort of dancing as one typically thinks of it, although it can. It allows access to the full language of the body, which can be very revealing and healing.
