Trauma and PTSD

Many people have suffered trauma, whether something dramatic like a natural disaster, or something more commonplace, such as growing up in a home that felt unsafe. Both can have severe effects if there hasn’t been sufficient support. Unless the trauma is processed and healed, it can continue to wreak havoc on your emotions, relationships, and nervous system. Treating trauma does not mean revisiting the painful experience(s) unless one chooses and is ready to do so. Using somatic practices can help ground you in the present and give you resources to rebalance your nervous system and feel safer and more engaged with the world.
